Partnerships

The National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC) aims to support more industries, expand into new areas and access new technologies via strategic partnerships with local and international stakeholders. To date, NAMIC has 3 strategic partnerships and multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) partnerships with various local and international industry players across the AM value chain. These MOUs have translated into existing NAMIC projects and pipelines, with more to be developed.

Strategic Partnership

NAMIC – IPI
  • Additive manufacturing (AM) projects can leverage the global Intellectual Property (IP) pool in IPI Singapore for Background IP (BIP)
  • Collaboration between the Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) and industry partner can create Foreground IP (FIP) that is to be registered with IPI Singapore
NAMIC – SMF
  • In collaboration with AM Industry Working Group, to advance AM adoption and unlock value for SMF membership pool
  • SMF members pool resources, form a Technology Partnership Group around common Technical Challenges
  • NAMIC augments resources, identifies relevant IP, and implements translational R&D projects to achieve technical objective
NAMIC – ASTM
  • NAMIC works together with ASTM’s global partners to create a network of Global AM Centres of Excellence to accelerate AM R&D and standards development for strategic sectors

SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) – NAMIC MOU Signing

SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) and NAMIC will collaborate to complement SIAEC’s Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) business with spare parts digitisation and on-demand additive manufacturing (AM) to support aircraft cabin maintenance, AM processes and materials development while complying with industry standards and regulations.

Singapore Health Services, National Healthcare Group, National University Health Systems, Printerprezz and NAMIC will collaborate to focus on the research, design and development of implantable products in musculoskeletal areas, orthopaedics, and emerging areas in healthcare sector.

National Applied Research Lab (NARLABS) Taiwan-x-Dimension Center for Medical Research and Translation, China Medical University Hospital (CMUH) Taiwan-NAMIC MOU Signing

NARLABS Taiwan, x-Dimension Center for Medical Research and Translation, China Medical University Hospital Taiwan and NAMIC agree to collaborate on promoting the development of AM technology ecosystem for bio-medical applications in Singapore and Taiwan, developing capabilities and competitive advantages in both countries.

Danish AM Hub-NAMIC MOU Signing

Danish AM hub and NAMIC agree to jointly set up a 3D Printing Global Alliance Initiative and promote collaboration in curating joint R&D and workforce development programmes, jointly organised events, Singapore/Germany market access, and trade missions.

Mobility goes Additive (MgA, Germany)-NAMIC MOU Signing

Collaborate with local companies to leverage plug-and-play solutions with MgA’s network members, including notable German MNC’s such as Siemens & TUV SUD. This will shorten the time-to-market for the development of AM solutions, and broaden the market reach for NAMIC and MgA’s global industry network, while expanding the applications of AM across sectors.
