Singapore Builds Food Resilience with Alternative Proteins and Indoor Farming

In Asia, food security is facing threats, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic that has disrupted food supplies. In the interest of building food resilience, and achieving its set goal of producing 30% of its nutritional needs locally by 2030, the Singapore Government has allocated S$144 million in R&D to develop the food tech market in Singapore. Food tech developments in Singapore include being crowned the world’s first cultivated meat market and investing in high-tech, indoor urban farming.
