For Individuals
Know exactly which AM courses to take for your role. Complete them. Get recognised.
NAAF Level 1 has no prerequisites — anyone can start anytime. Certificates do not expire and are a permanent record of your nationally aligned training.
🔍

Consistent reference for hiring

A NAAF certificate indicates the holder has completed a nationally recognised, job-role-aligned combination of AM courses — more meaningful than individual course certificates.

📈

Structured workforce upskilling

NAAF pathways provide clear training recommendations aligned to AM roles. Rather than ad hoc course selection, plan structured, job-relevant upskilling for your team.

💼

SSG funding for sponsored training

Most NAAF-recognised courses are SSG-registered. Company-sponsored training may be eligible for funding support — check with the course provider for applicable schemes.

For Employers
A nationally consistent reference to assess AM training — when hiring or upskilling your workforce.
Note: The NAAF certificate reflects training completed, not on-the-job work experience or performance. Use it as one input among others in your assessment process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is NAAF a new course?
No. NAAF is a framework, not a course. It maps existing AM courses to a national syllabus, recommends course combinations for specific job roles, and issues digital certificates to those who complete them. You take existing SSG-funded courses — NAAF provides the structure and recognition.
Do I need prior experience to start?
No. NAAF Level 1 has no prerequisites — anyone can start with any Level 1 course, regardless of prior AM experience.
How do I receive my NAAF certificate?
Once you have completed your recommended courses: (1) Click "Request Certificate" on this page. (2) Fill in your personal details and course completion information. (3) NAMIC verifies your completions with the respective training providers. (4) Your digital NAAF certificate is issued upon successful verification.
Do NAAF certificates expire?
No. Like a degree certificate, a NAAF certificate is a permanent record of your nationally aligned AM training. There is no expiry date.
How does NAAF work?
NAAF works in four steps. (1) Define the syllabus — NAMIC establishes the knowledge and skills required for each AM job role. (2) Map existing courses — AM courses are reviewed against the syllabus for relevance and depth. (3) Recommend combinations — complementary course combinations are identified to provide holistic, job-ready training. (4) Issue certificates — learners who complete the recommended combination submit a request; NAMIC verifies and issues a digital certificate.
I completed a past AM course that's no longer offered. Does it count?
It may. NAAF has dedicated pathways for past course holders. Completing SIMTECH's Smart AM System or NYP's Manage Advanced AM Technologies may count toward Level 1, or qualify you to enter directly at Level 2. Use the Certificate Pathway Finder and select "Completed AM courses in the past" to check your options.
Are overseas AM courses recognised?
Currently, NAAF recognises local AM courses only.
Can I take NAAF courses in any order?
Yes — courses within a pathway can be completed in any order. Certificates are issued in sequence: you must hold Level 1 before Level 2 is issued, and Level 2 before Level 3.
How should employers use the NAAF certificate?
Use it as a consistent reference when assessing AM training — a NAAF certificate means the holder has completed a nationally recognised, job-role-aligned course combination. It reflects training completed, not on-the-job experience, so treat it as one input alongside your usual assessment process.
How can employers verify the authenticity of a NAAF digital certificate?
Use the NAAF Certificate Verifier — upload the original PDF and it will confirm authenticity, check for alterations, and display the learner's name, NAAF level, and date of issue. Only the original digital PDF issued by NAMIC can be verified; photographs and scanned copies cannot.
I am a training provider — how do I get my course NAAF-recognised?
Contact NAMIC via the enquiry form. NAMIC will review your course content against the national AM syllabus and share the mapping outcome and recognition decision with you.
What does NAAF recognition mean for training providers?
NAAF-recognised courses are included in nationally recommended course combinations, directly increasing their discoverability among learners following NAAF pathways. The mapping process also gives providers a clear view of how their courses sit within the broader training landscape — including where content overlaps and where unmet learner needs exist — supporting the development of more differentiated, higher-value offerings.
