Recycled Glass in Concrete Mixture Used to 3D Print Structure For the First Time

Built Environment

Scientists from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) have 3D-printed a bench from a concrete mixture containing recycled glass that could potentially pave the way for more to be recycled for use in building and construction.

The specially formulated material used for the 40cm tall, L-shaped bench exceeded the minimum strength required when hardened to be used in construction projects like heavy traffic driveways, or 30 mega pascals.
