The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) issued an advisory circular on 26 May 2023 providing information and guidance on the use of additive manufacturing in design activities and in the production of articles under Singapore Airworthiness Requirements (SAR) Part 21.
AC 21-7 is applicable to applicants and holders of SAR Part 21 design and production organisation approvals.
The guidelines cover processes and areas of assessment for incorporating, outsourcing or amending any design or production process involving the use of Additive Manufacturing by Design Organisation Approval holder (DOA) and Production Organisation Approval holder (POA). In Singapore, all modifications and repairs done on Singapore-registered aircraft will need to be approved by CAAS.
