AIRLAB and SUTD Combine Traditional and Modern Architecture Construction Methods

AIRLAB and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) has successfully combined traditional and modern day construction methods with the use of additive manufacturing, producing a lightweight bamboo gazebos, AirBamboo, Sombra Verde and AirMesh. The AirBamboo structure is suitable for disaster relief with its 2-week assembly time whereas Sombra Verde serves as an shelter in urban cities like Singapore. The AirMesh Pavilion is an urban architectural design located at Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay.
