The Singapore Shipping Association (SSA), National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC) and Maritime Port Authority (MPA) jointly organised the “Additive Manufacturing for the Maritime Industry” workshop on 6 Dec 2019.
Thirty-two maritime companies that are members of SSA attended the workshop. Through the workshop, 3D printing experts from Siemens, ThyssenKrupp, 3D Metal Forge, Voestalpine, Ivaldi, Spareparts3D, DNV-GL, A*STAR and SUTD shared their expertise on various technology platforms and commercial use-cases. The participants gained better understanding about the AMtechnology and the benefits it may offer. We are hopeful to see more maritime companies embracing and integrating AM technology into their business.
The event ended with a tour to Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP). We had received positive feedback from the event. Attendees were inspired by the latest innovations in the 3D printing industry. They also enjoyed the networking sessions.
