Additive Manufacturing Intern

Job Description

Job Summary:

The intern will assist the R&D team in Additive Manufacturing projects relating to 3D printing, process optimization and material characterization.

Reports to: Additive Manufacturing Scientist

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the engineer on lab set up activities, documentation, R&D and part printing works.

• Operates and maintain additive manufacturing machines, carry out preprocessing activities like powder preparation and loading, machine set-up.

• Perform powder and part characterization activities such as particle size analyzing, test coupon cut up, mounting and polishing works.

• Carries out post processing activities such as inspection, de-powdering, cleaning, and support removal.

• Work closely with the Additive Manufacturing team to support daily 3D Printing operations.

• Willing to learn operation of multiple machines and adapt to fast changing environment.

Requisite Criteria & Skills:

• Pursing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or Material Science.

• Knowledge on CAD (Solidworks or equivalent) and metallography analytical tools will be an added advantage.

• Team player with strong analytical skills

Job Summary:

The intern will assist the R&D team in simulation projects relating to Design For Additive Manufacturing and optimization.

Reports to: Computational Modeler

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on projects relating to product optimization under the supervision of Engineering team • Perform Finite element analysis and or Fluid flow analysis as required

• Validate simulation results with experimental data

• Interact with product development teams on design requirements and challenges

• Discuss, propose, and present solutions to the engineering team

Requisite Criteria & Skills:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree /Phd degree in Mechanical /Aerospace engineering

• Good understanding of Heat transfer, Fluid dynamics and Mechanical design

• Excellent skills in CAD [Solidworks, Creo, Spaceclaim, Rhino 3D]

• Experience with FEM, CFD using Ansys/Abaqus/ Comsol or similar programs and or topology optimization

• Knowledge of Computational design, Machine learning, Additive manufacturing and coding (Python, C++ etc ) will be an advantage

• Good attitude towards work and a passion for simulation driven design
