AI Enhanced Video Extensometry

10 June 2026 — 11 June 2026

Days to Event:
Days

This advanced workshop introduces participants to modern non-contact video extensometry techniques used for accurately measuring strain and deformation during mechanical testing. The session focuses on how AI-enhanced measurement systems can improve the characterisation and validation of additively manufactured (AM) materials, particularly high-performance polymers.

As additive manufacturing adoption continues to grow across industries such as aerospace, semiconductor, and medical technology, understanding the unique mechanical behaviour of AM materials has become increasingly important. Unlike conventionally manufactured materials, AM components often exhibit anisotropic properties, surface irregularities, and complex deformation mechanisms that present challenges during testing and validation.

Through technical presentations, live demonstrations, and hands-on practical sessions, participants will learn how advanced video extensometry systems address these challenges while improving measurement accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability.
