About the speaker:

Professor José R. Albiol-Ibáñez is the Vice Dean of International Relations, Employment, Business Cathedra & Entrepreneurship at the ETS Building Engineering, Universitat Politècnica de València in Spain. He is also a member of the Building Technology Research Center (CITE) and the former Director of the Building Technology Exhibition (EXCO) and the Curator of the “International Itinerant Exhibition in Building Research”. He holds several degrees, including a PhD in Construction & Civil Engineering, and his research focuses on sustainability, advanced materials, concrete technology, advanced hybrid structures, and 3D printed structures.

About the seminar:

The following research projects will be discussed in this 60-minute lecture on 3D print building construction: using 3D printed plastics and concrete for special structures; hybrid 3D printed beams with “lego” type unions and bone tech; utilizing rice waste in the 3D building and sculpture sectors; building eolic towers with 3D printing technology or a new inflatable system; and high-performance manufacturing of 3D translucent concrete. The presentation will go over the components, tools, and technical processes used in these cutting-edge projects.
