Singapore Residential Area Trials 3D Printed Vertical Garden with Plans to Expand Initiative if Successful

Community gardens are found in Singapore housing estates, where residents of a housing estate and Residents’ Committee members share a space to plant their own vegetables. In a collaborative project between Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council and the National University of Singapore (NUS), 3D printing technology is utilised in establishing a vertical garden in Bukit Panjang. 3D printing technology is said to have environmental benefits such as zero waste, lack of toxic gases, noise pollution or contamination from chemical substances.
