A challenge in stem cell differentiation in regenerative medicine is the inability to control what type of cells are produced in embryoid bodies. Researchers in SUTD are looking into how bioprinting allows for greater geometrical control and precision in embryoid bodies that will in turn influence the type of cells produced.
