ST Engineering’s Joint P2F Conversion Venture Receives EASA’s Supplemental Type Certificate

ST Engineering’s Aerospace sector has achieved a milestone on their joint venture with Airbus and Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW). The venture on A321 Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) conversion has received European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) one month after the prototype had been produced.

In this venture, ST Engineering oversaw the engineering development phase, while EFW helmed the overall programme and marketing efforts. They were the sole provider of P2F conversions through their own STC developed using original OEM engineering data, and the housing assemblies for converted freighters were produced through additive manufacturing processes – Polymer Laser Sintering and Direct Metal Laser.
