3D printing technology is the future direction of local aerospace industry

3D printing technologies are becoming more mature and the Economic Development Board will support local aerospace companies to use innovative technologies such as 3D printing to drive the industry’s development. NAMIC Managing Director Dr Ho Chaw Sing said in terms of technology, it is not a problem to use 3D printing in airplane maintenance, but when you change the manufacturing or materials in any product, it needs to be recognised. The process needs time and a market that can accept the change. NAMIC which is set up by NTUitive, supported by NRF, EDB and SPRING Singapore, held a conference on Thursday (6 April) which attracted close to 200 people from more than 30 companies.
