3D-printed heart valves made using bio-ink

Xpect-INX, a Flemish company has brought the printing of human organs one step closer. The company is a spin-off from a project of the Belgian University of Ghent (UGent) and the team have been researching new polymers and bio-inks for various types of applications for more than a decade. The bio-fabrication of tissue is still in its infancy however the team is optimistic with their current progress and to reduce animal experiments.
