With the unappetising appearance of pureed food, it is one of the main causes of malnutrition in elderly. As such, food technologists are optimistic that 3D-printed food is the new future for elderly-targeted healthcare as they aim to create palatable and visually appealing food with hopes to encourage elderly patients to eat. Such efforts are highly beneficial in nations facing ageing population, such as Singapore.
