Junior Sales Engineer (3D Printing & Manufacturing)

Job Description

Overview

The Junior Sales Engineer supports the sales process by combining foundational engineering knowledge with an understanding of design workflows in 3D printing and manufacturing environments. This role assists in technical consultations, solution scoping, and customer engagement while learning to translate design requirements into feasible, cost-effective manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Pre-Sales Support

– Assist in gathering customer requirements related to 3D printing, additive manufacturing, and traditional manufacturing workflows.

– Support preparation of technical presentations, basic design recommendations, and product demonstrations.

– Help produce quotations, estimates, and simple technical proposals.

  1. Design & Technical Assistance

– Create or update basic CAD models, design drafts, or 3D files required for customer discussions.

– Work with senior engineers to validate manufacturability, material choices, and production methods (e.g., FDM, SLA, SLS, CNC).

– Assist with preparation of technical documentation, drawings, and customer samples.

  1. Customer Engagement

– Participate in customer calls, meetings, and follow-ups under guidance.

– Provide technical clarifications and gather customer feedback for internal teams.

– Help maintain customer records, enquiries, and sales pipelines.

  1. Cross-Team Collaboration

– Coordinate with engineering, production, and design teams to ensure alignment between customer requirements and internal capabilities.

– Support development of marketing or technical materials for product launches or demonstrations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

– Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or related fields.

– Basic knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD).

– Understanding of 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS) and general manufacturing processes.

– Strong communication and willingness to learn customer-facing skills.

– Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
