LaGuardia Studio gives burn victim new life with 3D printed face and arms implants in a life-changing surgery at NYU Langone Health. Twenty-two-year-old New Jersey resident Joe DiMeo had suffered severe burns in a car accident in 2019. While waiting for a face donor, the LaGuardia Studio team researched and conducted 3D Scans for DiMeo’s arms in preparation for the inpending surgery. In March 2020, a donor was found and the entire 3D printing and surgical process was completed in a span of 2 days – a notable feat.
